I'm recycling the Fear Itself chapter of Take Me:Take Two , Otherwise known as the fic whose name started out lame and got worse. Anyhow, I realized I needed a reason for Anya and Giles to go to the frat party/scary house thing [one that made mor sense than it did in the original story.] Easy enough , I made it into a charity event open to the public. I'm pleased with this idea and decide what the heck, I'll make it for my favorite charity, UCP. This led to the joke that isn't. When Giles hears what the charity is he claims to have had a cousin with CP and Oz says that's funny so do I.
This is only a joke if you're me. Say you have CP and it's like saying you're Native American the person you're talking to [if they are American] will eight times out of ten dig up a long lost relative of some sort who is too. It's human nature we want to relate to one another. Of course in Sunnydale the digging up would be more literal. I imagine the slow don't survive very long.
I guess I could have Xander ask them if either one is named Gerri but that would be obscure. I mean by that time Facts of Life had jumped a school of sharks.
