I was up all night because of a T storm. Tara Dog decided this one was scary. She seems to do that with every other one.

I got the first draft of chapter 10 of T&P done without the sitcom parade. It needed to be in Buffy's POV. I'm sure I wrote her OOC for season six. I just can't do that depressed. Maybe all the affectionate people around her in this AU are helping?

BUFFY

When Buffy was little a babysitter had let her see a movie about the Salem witch trials. In the movie, a woman was bound and laid on the ground. A door was put on top of her chest and her accusers piled river rocks on top, one at a time. She’d felt like that woman for a long time now.

Maybe it wouldn’t have been so bad if she could sleep without dreaming; just get some rest. There wasn’t a chance to rest, though; the Hellmouth was overrun with demons and they had bigger problems, too.

Tara and Willow had argued when Tara got home. Willow had said something about how Tara wasn’t the price she'd agreed to pay Rack. Tara had demanded to know just who or what the price was supposed to be. Willow wouldn’t answer, just got black-eyed and angry and then took off. Even Xander didn’t know where she'd gone. It was early Sunday evening and the start of Buffy and Spike's day off. Buffy was paging through a catalog while using Spike’s chest as a comfy cushion. “Oh, this bag is cute, but do you think I should get something more luggage-like? Xander is going to be carrying it as much as Dawn.”

“Hmm, the denim one with the little Tigger on it is a nice compromise. You want one, don’t you?”

“A diaper bag or a Tigger?” Buffy asked, knowing he didn’t mean either.

Spike said, “A baby. Seems everyone we know is in the family way lately.”

Sure, it was going to be fun to play auntie to Dawn and Xander’s little boy and to the kids of the few Slayers who had a family. But Buffy still killed her houseplants. She didn’t actually want a baby of her own. Well, she didn’t want to want one. It had taken so long for her and Spike to work things out. She didn’t want him to think she was unhappy with just him. “I’m over wanting what everybody else has.” It was mostly true. “I have something nobody else can.”

“What’s that, love?”
