I just got done reading an eroctica novel I liked better than average Bittersweet Homecoming by Anne Jacobs This is the blurb from the site
A one-night stand eight years ago was all they had before Gray was wounded and presumed dead. Basic plot of a zillion category romances, right? This is eroctica so it needs a delicate ballance of romance plot and scorching sex. Most of the time I think the basic difference between Romance and eroctica is anal sex toys. I can get better pwp from fanfic. This is almost true in this story too, but this wounded hero isn't just a fake gimp with a few scars and a mably limp. He's really been hurt and the H/h have to deal with what this means in terms of sexuality. Gray liked to dom in the bedroom before his imprisonment and back injury so being physically weak is even more of an issue for him than your average guy.
I was sort of holding my breath waiting for Gray to have a real meltdown and go overboard on control. Andi wasn't completely convincing as a sub either. I got the feeling that she was just goiung along with it. [Which I suppose could prove me wrong LOL]
Over all the author handled the eroctica ballancing act pretty well and right up until the HEA gave me a hero that wasn't a fake gimp.
So I think I almost forgive her for having a sweet brave handicapped little kid named Timmy in one of her books.
