It wasn’t uncommon for somebody to call out her name as she
walked down the street. It was an odd thing to be the star of a show with your
name on title. When they called out – I love you Cordy! What they were really
saying was- I love the show! They didn’t know her.
She was living in a false world created for people living in
denial; a sort of a box within a box. The rules of her world said they
shouldn’t be together. May/December romances only played well when December
held the credit cards.
Cordy didn’t care she loved his scars, not to mention the calluses he had from holding stakes and playing guitar. [Why didn’t anyone ever tell her he could do that back in high school?] And she loved the solid realness of his middle aged body most. He was far too real for anyone in this world to believe in. So just like the very real things he helped to protect the world from their relationship never saw the light of day.
