I've got a bunny and the more I think about it the less likely I am to get it done right so I'm posting here because I think it's too good to waste.
AU the Gem of Amara episode. An early scribe left out reports of the curse that goes with it and all the books after that copied the legand from that book rather than getting the info from the source. The price for invincibilty is that the vampire cannot harm a living soul. And once the ring is removed it will never work for that vampire again.
So we have Spike on a leash that's not goverment issue. He's immuned to stakes, sunlight and holy water but he still can't eat.
Come up for a reason for Spike to think that being unable to hunt and the ring are separate things at first. He's got to get attached to the daylight [not to mention helping Buffy]
I liked Collage Buffy make more of her struggle to fit in. At some point S/B fight because it upsets her that he's better at being "normal" than she is. This is more in her head than actually true.
Sunday as the little bad and Maggie Walsh as the BB She can be using demons as lab rats and even have plans to study the Slayer but no secret army base.
I human other than Buffy needs to be in danger from another human near the end of fic so that Spike decides to take off the ring. It's up to the writer if somebody saves him from making that choice or not.
