In no real order.
A home that's dry and [mostly] warm.
Hot tea on this cold wet day.
The best father in the universe. Who treats me like a grownup but is still there for me.
A sister who mothers me but it's a habit I don't blame her for. With six kids she pretty much mothers everyone.
The sweetest dog on the planet to keep my feet warm.
Fandom has been on my mind lately. Its my second family and has shaped my life almost as much as much as the one I was born to.

I joined Starfleet when I was 19. I had stopped going to school for health reasons and I needed to get out among people I wasn't related to. Star Trek was a long time favorite and my BiL worked with the husband of a member of the "ship." It isn't a role play group though it's set up with rank and positions like one would be. It's more like the LINDA group in the Doctor Who episode " Love & Monsters" a bunch of fans who get together for food and conversation. Some of it has to do with Trek most doesn't. They also do a lot of community service stuff.

I got a chance to make friends I still have today. People who see me as more than just the way I walk. I got to be in the middle of things instead of off on the fringes. The wank might've made things unpleasant toward the end with the first group. And I might've lost the ability get to the meetings for the one I founded but I wouldn't trade it for the world.

BtVS fandom and the LJ it led to got me out into the world even more. And not all of it virtual, I got to go to writercon! {This is where I add I hope there's going to be one this year.} I don't drive and can rarely get out of the house to do more than grocery shop or to walk to work. It's not a case of not having a life because I spend it on the computer. If I didn't have the internet, because of physical and financial reasons, I couldn't do anymore. I'm not saying this so y'all will pity me it's just a fact. I'm not a shut in little old lady, but I do have a much wider world than I would have because of fandom and I'm grateful.
