I've got a bad case of "nobody loves me," right now. I'd really like to get out somewhere and do something but I can't so I'll post some unbetad fic instead
Wrote a little of Take Me:Take Two The long forgotten second half to thislast night. I think Veruca is a little too Kennedy in this What do you think?
Veruca took Willow’s hand. “Wow, you’re really shaking. Maybe you should dress.”
Her whole body felt like it was humming. She was still so wound up from shifting that she couldn’t make herself get up to dress.“Well yeah I‘m shaking. You could’ve warned me. That was more like science fiction than magic. I mean I just had my molecules scrambled and rearranged alien style without the help of Mr. Scott!”
Willow felt herself turn red but Veruca didn’t laugh at nerdiness.“You got the hang of it really quick. You have a lot of power.”
“This was a big spell and it was fun. I mean I’ve done big spells before but mostly for other people. Like Buffy,” Willow said.
Veruca laughed. “About time you did something for you then. Right?”
“I got to be honest here. ‘Cause I’m honest most places. The people I’m with all the time. The ones you called my entourage. They aren’t really my friends.”
“What? They’re like lame friends-in-laws and you hang together and let them use you because of Oz? He should treat you better, Will.”
“No! I don’t mean they aren’t my friends! They are my friends; my really good best friends!” Willow babbled because she felt like she’d denied the Scoobies or something.
Veruca said, “That isn’t what it sounds like to me.”
“I’m just – I’m not so much entourage having; as entourage being. I’m just the side-kick” That last part had to be choked past a knot in her throat. Veruca had been so passionate about defending her. She’d shortened her name like they’d known each other a long time. Like whoever Will was, was important to her.
“Will Honey, I’m good at sniffing out what people are. You are a lot of things, but you’re no sidekick.”
Veruca’s voice had gone soft and there tongue licked bit at full mouth when she said ‘sidekick.’ There was no mistaking it for anything but an invitation to kiss. Willow crossed her arms over her breast suddenly very aware that they were naked. The futon that they sat on seemed to become a lot more bed-like than sofa too. “I’m really hot,” Willow said, “ Cold!I mean cold! I think you should get dressed!”
Veruca laughed, handed Willow her clothes and showed her the bathroom. “For the record, I think you had it right the first time.” Veruca kissed her hard and fearless and just when Willow thought her molecules might reaarange themselves again just from the heat of it. “You are so hot, Will,” Veruca growled into her ear.
“Wait. This isn’t me. You don’t know me. I don’t do this.” Willow protested, pulling away and trying to regather her rumpled clothing.
“All right. Get dressed and go.” Willow hated the hurt angry look on Vercuca’s face.
“I’m sorry,” Willow said at the appartment door. “I want to come back. I need to think this over.” She didn’t know if she could be the sexy powerful person Veruca thought she was but Willow was very tempted to try.
“You know where to find me when you hear the call of the wild again.”
It wasn’t until Willow was in the dorm room she shared with Buffy that she realized that she’d forgotten to let Oz out of his cage.
