The Trek group has a thing coming up the end of April in TN. http://sites.beyondweb.com/r1-summit/ When I've gone in the past I've had fun, but I want a different sort of vacation. Not in the moood for a crowd. I think being in that beautiful area would be a tease.
In an ideal world I'd rent a cabin with a few friends. I'm by myself most of the time at home so completely alone doesn't sound good. I want to be outdoors. I can't hike much but I'd love to try. Even if I have to take a big stick just to hobble a few feet to a picnic table it would be good. I'd like to try and remember how to cast -I haven't fished in decades - and was never any good. I liked sitting by the water waiting. I'd like 5-7 days of quiet mornings and storytelling at night.
Maybe I want to have the sort of vacation I had as a kid. Blueberry pancakes in the morning, fresh fish for lunch and s'mores around a fire at night sounds so good. It would be fun to cook for others angain for change. Yes there's ticks, asorted bugs, snakes and sunburn [ the friend going to summit pointed that out. So what? I get those here when play with the dog outside. I have a invite from a pal that would fit the bill nicely but it would require a plane trip that I haven't money for. Actually, I'm just dreaming. I haven't the money for any sort of vacation.
