Not much

Feb. 6th, 2006 12:56 pm
I had an achey night last night so I slept until 9:30. I managed to get myself to PT by 10:45 and I feel much better now but I don't thing I'll get any Displaced done today. Once noon rolls around my creativity is shot lately. Is it like that for anyone else? I used to be a night owl now I want to be in bed reading by 10. Imust be getting old... The next chapter of Displaced is almost ready for Jane. I thought it would be the last chapter but it doesn't feel over yet.

My sister is taking me into town tomorrow I need to exchage a swimsuit I bought for PT and a collar I had to get for Tara. Both items had become thread bare and the ones I both last week weren't the right size. I'm going to need to get a two piece suit because a 16 is too big on the bottom and too small on top.

Rant!

It's not long so I wont bother with a cut. My Grocery store is awful. For a place that's always busy the the stuff never seems fresh. The have really limited produce and what there is blah! I've gootten used to checking the date on everything before I put it in my cart and buying most of the veggies I eat frozen.{even then I've had to deal with stuff that looks like it's been thawed and refrozen}

There are problems with stuff you wouldn't think of too, I wanted to make oatmeal coookies so I looked at bagged nots in the produce area all of them had a experation date of Octber last year. So I bypassed them and picked up a thing of raisins I couldn't find the date on them but how can a raisin get old? So they went in my cart. When I opened them they were really hard and dryer than than they should've been. I found the date and the darn things expired in 2004! I eating them isn't going to kill me but they won't add a bit of flavor to the cookies either.

Do other areas have this problem? Is it the time of year and/or the gas prices? The only other store always looks dirty and has even less as far as produce.
I've seen places on-line to get produce. Anyone use them? What do you think they seem pretty expensive.

Cheer me up go read the fic I posted yesterday.
Here's the latest picture of me. I don't know if you can tell that I'm 40 pounds lighter in this than the one with JM or not. I'm all bent up trying to keep my balance and I look kind of lumpy.Read more... )

[Poll #621841]It must be a Thanksgiving miricle. I've lost eight pounds this month this in spite of not really caring to watch the diet and pigging out over the holiday. My dad says that it's because eating less has become a habit. It would be really great if he were right.

For those of you that remember I have a bunch of fics in progress stuff is actually being written. Honest, I mean it this time.
These were supposed to be applesauce oatmeal cookies but I didn't have the sauce They turned out very good anyway.

1Vegetable oil spray
1/2 cup grated apple I used golden delicious
1/3 raisins
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon canola or corn oil.
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cup rolled oats
1cup AP flour
1teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1/8 [a pinch] teaspoon of cardamon

Preheat oven to 350f. Spray two cookie sheets with the oil. In a medium bowl mix the grated apple, raisins, corn oil, sugars and vanilla. In another bowl mix the rest of the igredients together then mix the wet into the dry. Drop by heaping teaspoon onto the cookie sheets flatten a bit and bake for 12-15 mins.
tTwo cookies are 105 calories and there's only 2 grams of fat. I'm sure I could buy cookes with less calories but my house would smell so darn good.

I've lost 7 lbs. Pretty good considering it's been less than two weeks and you factor in the birthay dinner and 4th of July fast food.
Feeling a little better today/ I cleaned out the fridge and did the big pantry shopping. It's was a great time to start a diet I was even out of things like pasra and catsup. When I handed over my card I had to remind myself that most of the stuff will last me a month or more [laundry soap, dog food, ect] and I should only have to go back in a week for the fresh veggies and soy milk. I had a list and I still forgot stuff.

I made myself a greek salad for supper. So far I've had no problem staying within 1500 calories a day, I mean I don't feel hungry. It is hard paying attention to serving sizes. When I got the stuff home I portioned out the meat and I put a reminder of serving sizes of other food groups on the fridge so I wont make too much. It might be easier to make extra and save for lunches and stuff but I would rather not temp myself.

I didn't write any today. Sorry guys I wore myself out shopping and cleaning.

I went to the doctor yesterday to renew the script for PT. Decided a couple of things based on what I had so far in me food journal and what his scale said. Right now it looks like I take in about 2200 cal. a day and I wiegh ten lbs less than I thought. Doc also said to take into account that I have more muscle and bone mass than average. So the 60 lbs has been cut back to 40. I already knew that I'd never be healthy as a size 6 so it's not a surprize.

The big problem seems to be how I eat and not how much. Between when I wake up at around 7 or 8 and 5 pm I eat about 300 cal. I just don't get hungery durring the day unless it's that time of the month. So the rest is eating a big meal at the end of the day. Yes, I know better my mom was a diabetic and if I don't want to be the same I need to eat three to five meals a day. Getting into the habit of eating and drinking [water] more often is going to harder than ccutting back on the calories. And I'm a little worried over how my food bill will go up.
I've got laundry and dishes to do but right now I so tired and sore from PT that's just not gonna happen . [ponders being naked] well the laundry will get done sometime tonight.

Speaking of the scariness of me naked I got the No Fad Diet book today it recomends keeping a food journal. I'll probably do that privately on my LJ. I need to eventually lose 50 lbs. So how do y'all feel about my talking diet here? I wouldn't want to bore you with calorie counts or weight ins but would you be interested in hearing my progress or non-progress?
